Convex Relaxation of Combined Heat and Power Dispatch

Combined heat, and power dispatch promotes interactions, synergies between electric systems, district heating systems. However, nonlinear, nonconvex flow imposes significant challenges on finding qualified solutions efficiently. Most existing methods rely constant assumptions to derive a linear model, sacrificing optimality for computational simplicity. This paper proposes novel convex combined model based simplification, constraint relaxations, which improves solution quality, avoids operating regimes of To alleviate mathematical complexity introduced by the commonly used node method, simplified thermal dynamic is proposed capture temperature changes in networked pipelines. Quadratic, polyhedral relaxations are then applied convexify original problem with quadratic equality, bilinear constraints. Furthermore, an adaptive algorithm developed successively reduce relaxation area sequential bound tightening, desirable efficiency. The method verified distribution-level, transmission-level integrated electricity, heat compared constant-flow-based solutions, iterative algorithms.
